EquaDem’s recent Networking Event in Bournemouth brought together researchers, public advisors, clinicians, community organisations and practitioners from across the country – and the overwhelming feedback was clear: the networking element was a real success.
Held as part of EquaDem’s commitment to building a national community focused on tackling inequalities in dementia diagnosis and care, the event created space for people to meet others working in similar areas, exchange ideas and begin shaping new collaborations. Throughout the day, attendees could be see sharing contact details, discussing ongoing projects and identifying opportunities to work together across regions and sectors.
Many participants commented that it was refreshing to connect in person with colleagues they had only met online, while others valued the chance to learn from people with lived experience of dementia and from those delivering services on the ground. As one attendee said: “This is exactly what we need – people connecting across disciplines and across lived experiences, all trying to reduce inequalities in dementia support”.
With further networking events planned – all completely FREE – the next one will be held in Nottingham on January 26, 2026 from 1 pm to 3.30 pm at Jubilee Campus. Speakers will be confirmed shortly and there will be plenty of opportunity for networking and meeting others. Please use the Eventbrite link below to sign up and come along.
